What you will do
The Transportation Lead is responsible for overseeing transportation services, including freight management, strategic transportation analysis, compliance, claims, freight payment, import/export services, and deviations. Facilitate the expedited freight approval process and track spend. Partner with manufacturing, distribution, and planning colleagues to streamline flow and minimize costs.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise transportation analysts, with responsibility for goal setting, development, and performance management.Evaluate and propose automation solutions that maximize resource effectiveness, decrease cycle times, and minimize transactional defects.Support transformation projects by helping to define business process requirements with business partners to improve the customer experience and attain capabilities goals.Analyze strategic transportation supply chain requirements and develop creative solutions.Primary point of contact for sites and logistics providers to communicate issues affecting shipment flows, including missing documentation, freight delays, quality events, and shipping receiving delays.Collaborate with internal & external business partners, including Sourcing, Planning, Manufacturing, and Carriers to deliver results across critical metrics owned by Transportation.Lead operational activities to support carrier bids for various domestic and inter-region transport moves.Lead/participate in operational vendor management meetings and manage day-to-day tactical relationships with vendors.Utilize data to develop analyses that uncover insights and opportunities; lead process improvement projects leveraging PM methodologies.Oversee specified transportation services, including freight management and compliance.Coordinate track & trace/exception management for assigned transportation lanes.What we are looking forRequired QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's degree required.Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience required.Experience in logistics, customer service, transportation, distribution, operations, supply chain, and/or information technology.Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.Requires data analytics experience.Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully.Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to embrace learning.Ability to work in a matrix environment.Desired QualificationsPeople leadership experience preferred.Demonstrated business results in optimizing business processes.Experience with SAP, BW, Tableau, or Power BI;
Alteryx, Qlik, or other data software is a plus.Experience with Transportation Management Systems.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.Project management experience.Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training or certification.What's in it for youAnnual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $92,000 to $149,500. This takes into account a number of factors including experience and qualifications.
